Did you know that every Thursday throughout the length of the summer, we’re hosting college info sessions at AFH? We’ll have representatives from Lesley University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Montserrat College of Art and Maine College of Art speaking to our teen artists and designers about the application process, course offerings and tuition financing options.

So far, we’ve welcomed representatives from Lesley University and Wentworth Institute of Technology. On the importance of College Info Sessions, AFH alum Jonathan Vergara said, “The college information sessions at AFH were really helpful to me during my time as a participant. I was able to ask questions, find out which schools offered the majors I was most interested in and I learned more about how to make my application stand out.”

Kelsey Arbona, AFH Alum and Graphic Design Mentor said, “I chose to attend Lesley University because I met Lesley admissions staff at college info sessions while at AFH. Putting a face to those who decide your higher education years makes applying for college a lot less intimidating. I met an ally who helped me understand what exactly I needed to go to art school. I also met Urban Scholars Initiative (USI) Director Maritsa Barros at an AFH college info session, which helped me secure a 50% tuition scholarship to Lesley University.”
